Family Support Program
The Early Childhood Family Support program is open to all Oswego Community Unit School District 308 families with children between the ages of 3-5 years of age who are not yet attending Kindergarten. Our program is a collaboration between SD 308 staff, families, and the community. Our goal is to bring support and fun to the families of our youngest friends.
El programa de Apoyo Familiar a la Primera Infancia está abierto a todas las familias de la comunidad del Distrito Escolar de la Unidad Comunitaria Oswego 308 con niños entre las edades de 3 a 5 años que aún no asisten al Kinder. Nuestro programa es una colaboración entre el Distrito Escolar 308, las familias y la comunidad. Nuestro objetivo es brindar apoyo y diversión a las familias de nuestros amigos mas pequeños.
Kindergarten Readiness
When we refer to the word transition, it can be overwhelming for some, especially when we speak about the transition to kindergarten. This is a time that can be very stressful for a young child. They are leaving either the home environment or the familiar environment of their pre-K classroom to enter a new place.
Your child will be expected to learn a new set of rules, adjust to a new peer group, interact with a new teacher, perhaps ride a bus for the first time, eat in a cafeteria, and the list goes on! We put these resources together to help ease the transition and the worries that come along with a new environment.

The Family Support Program is available to all SD 308 families that need assistance with resources and parenting concerns for children 5 years and younger who are not yet attending Kindergarten. Once your referral is received, the Family Support Specialist will contact you.
