Brokaw Early Learning Center

The School District 308 Tuition-Based preschool program, supported by a monthly fee of $400.00 from participating families, serves students from 3 to 5 years old. As space is limited, access to the tuition-based preschool program will be through a lottery.

Students of the Tuition, Preschool For All, and Special Education programs are placed in classrooms using a blended format. This means all three populations are represented in selected classrooms. Classroom teachers hold a Professional Educator License and endorsements in Early Childhood, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. Classrooms are supported by one teacher assistant and other support staff as needed.

All students experience the Creative Curriculum, a scientifically researched-based preschool curriculum. The philosophy of this curriculum is learning through play. Teachers utilize direct instruction and at least one hour of student-directed play at learning centers. Teachers assess students' progress and note students' interests to tailor learning activities to meet the needs of all children. SD308 curriculum and resources are aligned from Early Childhood - Grade 12.

Students attend Monday through Friday and the program offers morning and afternoon sessions.   Early Childhood students do not attend on any shortened district attendance days. Early Childhood classrooms are located at the Brokaw Early Learning Center and inside multiple elementary schools. Assigned locations are based on each student's home address.

 

Families who have been selected through the lottery will receive an email with all necessary enrollment information needed to enroll their child. Parents will be asked to supply the first month's tuition payment of $400.00 at the time of enrollment.  Students who were not initially selected for the program will be put on a waiting list to be called if space becomes available.
